Dr. Rogier Deumes is an Assistant Professor at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE), where he also earned his PhD. His research interests relate to the broad field of corporate governance, control and auditing, with a focus on boards of directors and audit committees. His research has been published in various academic journals. He has further been involved in several commissioned research projects for different companies and institutions, including the Big Four accounting firms and the European Commission. In his teaching role he is responsible for coordinating and teaching courses on corporate governance at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. He is also responsible for the continuing education activities for professionals, including supervisory board members, accountants, and controllers. He further serves as academic manager of SBE’s Thesis-Internship Programme (TIP), member of the SBE MSc Admissions Committee, and as an editorial board member of “Maandblad voor Accountancy en Bedrijfseconomie”.
