What works…

Using Evidence to Assess Effectiveness

Measuring the impact of reforms, policies or strategic change trajectories can be quite a challenge. Simply defining a KPI and observing the difference before and after won’t do the job, since there are many simultaneous forces at play that will muddle your measurement. So how can we make sure we have a clean view on the outcomes?

During this Tea & Talent session, Max Löffler presented an evidence-based approach to assess the effectiveness of change and take you through several practical examples evaluating economic policy.

The speaker

Max Löffler is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Maastricht University. Before joining Maastricht, he worked at economic policy institutes and contributed to various policy projects commissioned by the German government. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Cologne. His research is focused on evaluating tax reforms and studying inequality.

Behavioural Insights & Change

This session represents one of three parallel presentations that are part of the online Tea & Talent event Behavioural Insights & Change, organised on 4 November 2021 by UMIO in partnership with the UM Behavioural Insights Centre (UM-BIC) and the Behavioural Insights Network Netherlands (BIN-NL).
