Service-centred innovation can co-exist and complement an existing organisation. Whether the decision to innovate is implemented incrementally over a shorter time-period or more radically over a longer time span, a user-centric and design-centred perspective can be employed. Here, the principles of agility and lean start-up, can also be used effectively.
In the past, there was always a clear distinction between a product and a service, something tangible vs something intangible. Nowadays, those traditional perceptions and boundaries have blurred. The value of a certain service or product is now the key. Organisations need to innovate with services to survive.
